Questions & Answers

  1. I cannot logon to server with my Cable Model, what should I do?
Some cable modems "lock-up" the Ethernet Mac address. First, unplug the power adapter of your EasyPhone. Then unplug your cable modem, and plug it back in after 10 seconds. After the cable modem comes back online, plug in your EasyPhone power adapter to re-boot the EasyPhone.
  2. I use Switch or HUB, which kind of Ethernet cable should I take?
If the network is without a HUB, the BroadBand Netphone should be connected with other Ethernet equipment (such as XDSL adapter, CABLE modem or PC) by Ethernet crossover cable. Otherwise the direct-connecting cable is applied.
  3. Connecting the EasyPhone to the Ethernet port of my Router, but I "Failed to logon to the server".
Please make sure the Ethernet socket is an Uplink socket. Some Routers need Ethernet crossover cable, and our RJ45 phone adopts normal 568B twisted pair.
  4. [Ready For Call] is indicated, but I can't make or receive calls?
This might be because your network lost it's internet conection or your Ethernet cable is loosely connected with your phone. In such cases, please try rebooting your computer or waiting for about 5 minutes before making a call.
  5. I connect my EasyPhone to the Modem, and connect my computer to the PC port of my phone, but my browser still cannot access the Internet?
RJ45 IP phone acts as a HUB with two ports, however it cannot be used as NAT. Therefore, you cannot use your phone and surf on Internet on your computer at the same time. To solve this problem, you need to add a Router [or things like IP sharing], which supports PPPoE, between your phone and the Modem.
